This Book is the German translation of the English Report prepared by Fr. Jerome Palmer OSB back in1968 during the Apparitions of Our Lady of Zeitoun in Egypt and was published in 1969 by Culligan Publications Co. in the USA. The German translation was published in Germany in August 1970 after one year from the issuing of the English original version in 1969.
Fr. J Witting, the Vicar General of Würzburg, Bavaria granted the permission to the Society of Our Lady of All Nations to print and distribute it in Germany. (Note by admins)

HOW THIS BOOK CAME ABOUT

In January 1969, Father Palmer, OSB, was asked by the American publisher Culligan, a great devotee of Our Lady, to travel to Cairo to collect documents about the apparitions in Zeitoun. These documents are published here. The American publisher, Mr. Culligan, the author, Father Palmer, and the German editor are united in their goal: may people and nations better understand and learn about Heaven’s efforts to align all people toward their eternal salvation and goal. For wherever THE WOMAN, THE MOTHER, comes, there is at stake that great concern for which THE SON, our Lord Jesus Christ in his final discourse, prayed on the eve of his Passion and Crucifixion: to unite all people, all nations, all denominations in love in the Spirit of Christ.

From April 1968 to June 1969, a radiant, white woman appeared many times before the cross above the dome of the Coptic Church of the Virgin Mary in Zeitoun , often with Child in her arms, but always clothed in bright light, her head surrounded by a halo of light. Hundreds of thousands of Coptic Christians, Catholic Uniate Copts, Greek Orthodox Christians, and Muslims flocked to the apparition site, and many miraculous healings of the seriously ill and hopeless, who had implored this apparition (of the Virgin) for help, were recorded by doctors of hospitals. The apparitions occurred at the height of crisis between Arab states and Israel, which threatened to trigger a Third World War. Strikingly, THE WOMAN repeatedly moved from east to west and back, raising her hands in blessing the crowds.
The ecclesiastical authorities responsible for Cairo – the Coptic Patriarch, the Roman Catholic Cardinal Patriarch, the head of the Evangelical Christians of Egypt and the Greek Orthodox community resident there– as well as the Egyptian government and Muslim Leaders, unanimously declared these apparitions to be authentic. The striking results were strong new movement of piety and mutual understanding between the races and denominations of Egypt…
