St. Mary’s Apparitions

The first section of the book describes St. Mary’s apparitions documented in 3 places in Europe and finally in Zeitoun, Egypt.

The Apparitions Near Fatima, Portugal

Our lady St. Mary first appeared near Fatima, Portugal, to three children, Lucia (9), Francisco (8) and his sister Jacinta (6).

The first appearance was on May 13, 1917; one month after the USA entered World War I, and occurred on the same day monthly until October 13, 1917.

Initially only the three children saw this glorious apparition but gradually more people joined in and witnessed this amazing revelation. The last apparition was witnessed by thousands of people.

The Catholic Church started investigating this apparition in May 1922 and took 8 years until it was fully approved in October 1930.

The Apparitions in Beauraing, Belgium

St. Mary appeared in Beauraing, Belgium, about 33 times, from November 29, 1932 till January 3, 1933.

This is a small town where 2000 French-speaking people lived. This time our lady appeared to a group of five children, from two families, ages 15 to 9. Initially only the children saw our lady. However by the last appearance on January 3, 1933, almost 25 to 30,000 people saw our lady as well as the five children.

The Apparitions in Garabandal, Spain

On June 18, 1961, our lady St. Mary appeared to a group of four girls (3 aged 12 and 1 aged 11). The girls saw a most beautiful figure with a great deal of light. Initially an angel appeared then the girls saw our lady St. Mary. Apparitions were not at fixed times, as those in Fatima, but occurred at variable times. The last appearance was on November 13, 1965.

St. Mary’s Apparitions in Zeitoun, Egypt

By comparison to all other previous apparitions, our lady St. Mary’s apparitions in Zeitoun, Egypt are the most significant and powerful of all documented apparitions. St. Mary first appeared on April 2, 1968 over the domes of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Zeitoun. Initially 2 mechanics from the opposite garage thought a young lady is trying to commit suicide. However very soon it was obvious it was our lady St. Mary. The crowds witnessing these marvelous apparitions grow from few hundreds to more than 200,000 a night. Finally, millions of people from many countries who belonged to many different religions witnessed these amazing apparitions.

Characteristics of these Apparitions were as follows:

  1. Thousands for people from all religions, different ages and different backgrounds witnessed these apparitions at the same time, into contrast to St. Mary appearing only to few children, as in all other apparitions.
  2. Many forms of apparitions were witnessed. At times a lady was composed of light which was intense was seen. Sometimes mysterious lights, glowing clouds and luminous birds were witnessed. These birds didn’t seem to flop their wings as they fly but appeared to maneuver like gliders. They appear all of a sudden then suddenly disappear.
  3. Lights and other luminous forms were seen, which can’t be simulated by technology.
  4. Red incense billowed up from the central dome, you would need 1000’s of censers to produce that amount of incense.
  5. Many photographs were taken and were included in the book.
  6. Our lady seemed to be moving from one side of the church to another, appeared to bow acknowledging the crowds singing and chanting and looked like greeting and blessing the crowds.
  7. Healing of hundreds of people is documented. A commission of seven doctors was established by the church and hundreds of cases of miraculous healings was documented. This included, but now limited to, cancer, blindness, paralysis and many chronic diseases like kidneys and liver failures.
  8. Finally the apparitions continued for long period of time and lasted several hours at a time. The longest apparition was for the night of June 8, 1968 and lasted 712 hours (from 9 PM to 4:30 AM). The last apparition was in May 1971.

This section of the book concludes with the confirmation of the authenticity of these apparitions by both the Coptic Church and by the Egyptian government.

The Second Part of the Book: 5 Readings

The 2nd part of this book contain 5 readings dated from August 12, 1971 to May 2, 1972. The contents of these readings (articles) are explained to have to come to the author in an unconscious state. They can be described as contemplation or meditation. The author describe them as discourses which at points were very contrary to, or at least different from, our conscious beliefs.
