Booklet Content
The booklet briefly recounts the beginning of the apparitions, then immediately presents reports and testimonies attesting to their authenticity. These include a report by Father Constantine Moussa, the church’s pastor, about the apparition; testimonies from non-Christian garage workers about their visions of the Virgin Mary; testimonies from heads of Christian denominations; and the preliminary report of the Patriarchal Committee, comprised of three devout priests, which investigated the apparitions and submitted its report confirming the appearance of Virgin Mary to His Holiness Pope Cyril VI. The booklet also includes the governmental report from the Ministry of Tourism confirming the apparitions, as well as the testimony of the late Bishop Athanasius, Late Bishop of Beni Suef, whom Pope Cyril VI commissioned to verify the apparitions. Finally, it includes the papal report on the authenticity of the Virgin Mary’s apparitions, which was read at the press conference held by the Patriarchate on Saturday, May 4, 1968. The report then mentions some of the miraculous healings examined by the committee’s medical department, which confirmed that there was no scientific explanation for them and that they fell under the miraculous work of the Holy Virgin Mary. Finally, the booklet presents a unique classification that distinguishes the apparitions of the Holy Virgin Mary at Zeitoun, as a “Collective Mass-Witnessed Apparitions” where thousands of people present witnessed it in the same way and at the same time.
