The Apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Egypt
The subject of this book is “The Apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Egypt.” It was published by the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Austria, in the German language, and discusses the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Zeitoun, Assiut, Edfu–Aswan, and Shoubra, as well as some of the miracles associated with her apparitions. The book concludes with the testimony of a woman from Vienna who witnessed the apparitions of the Virgin in Zeitoun in April 1968 at Zeitoun Church.
Below is the introduction written by His Grace Bishop Gabriel, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Austria:

“The Holy Family visited Egypt and blessed its land. The Blessed Virgin Mary lived there for more than three years and six months with her Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and Joseph the Carpenter. During their journey through the land of Egypt, they passed through the district of Zeitoun (the site of the apparition in 1968) until they reached Assiut (the site of the apparition in 2000). Through the visit of the Holy Family, God blessed the people of Egypt and granted them more blessings than He bestowed upon any other nation.
Therefore, it is not at all surprising that the Blessed Virgin Mary would revisit the places where she once stayed nearly two thousand years ago.
This book is the first publication by the Coptic (Orthodox) Church documenting the blessed apparitions of the Mother of God in the German language. It covers the apparitions that occurred between 1968 and 2000, the miracles that accompanied them, and the testimony of an Austrian woman from Vienna who witnessed the 1968 apparitions and expressed her feelings in her own words.
I thank everyone who contributed to preparing this book. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the prayers of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, we ask God to strengthen the faith of many people through this work.
Glory be to God, now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.”
